A sportspersons dream, this event saw 14 teams facing off on Labour Day for the first ever Fair Trade Cup. 92 players sweated their way through four round-robin games, culminating in an energetic semi-final, and a final that saw Goodlife Gym take the competition from Macquarie Bank. With shop and information stalls, a raffle and an interactive Step Up Against Poverty display that had many young children running around with paint on their feet, the day was a resounding sucess. While most people checked out at least a delicious fair trade coffee brewed by Gypsy General Trading or a sample of chocolate, many of the competitors scored great prize packs – including some giant fair trade wooden spoons.
